Health benefits of drinking warm water

We all know water is good for us, but drinking it warm comes with a whole host of added health benefits.

First things first, water that has been boiled gets rids of any nasty bacteria and germs that may have been present previously, making it safer than drinking it cool.

It makes you sweat

Warm water helps raise your body temperature, causing you to sweat more. This helps to release toxins from your body and open up your pores.

It soothes your throat

Warm water can help dissolve phlegm (gross) and can soothe and itchy and irritated throat.

It improves bowel function

A glass of warm water can help get things moving, so to speak. Dehydration can cause serious constipation problems, and a glass of warm water can help break down any remaining food in the bowel.

It’s a weight loss aid

A hot water first thing in the morning apparently kick starts metabolism and helps burn fat, aiding weight loss and getting you in the swing of things for the day.

Warm water with slices of lemon can be a great way to start the day

It aids blood circulation

With better circulation, comes alleviated aches and pains, and more energy and focus.

It’s great for pregnancy

Warm water can apparently help alleviate abdominal cramps and water retention during pregnancy, and helps keep the urinary tract clean.

Many health experts swear by a warm water with slices of lemon first thing in the morning to cleanse and detoxify them. Not only do you get all the benefits of warm water, but lemon is also full of vitamin C, so gives you a little immunity boost too.
