Side part vs middle part:
Both are trending right now, but what are the advantages of each?
“A side part gives you a softer look and softens your facial features, so more people can pull this one off,” says Miki. “A middle part can be tougher to make work as it looks best on those with a very symmetrical face.”
Where did we see them?
Donna Karan and Balmain chose a deep side part while the Valentino models were given a centre part.
Can you mix it up and train your part to sit in the middle or on the side?
All hair types can be trained to go in a different direction but it normally takes a week for your hair to settle into the new part. Mikic suggests using products to help you with the first few weeks.

Try: For a side part, blowdry the hair in the opposite direction to get the curvature across the forehead. For a middle part use Matrix Style Link Gloss Booster, $21.50, with Matrix Style Link Smooth Setter, $21.50, to achieve a flatter and more symmetrical look.
Hair accessories:

Where did we see them?
Dolce & Gabbana has been featuring them on the runway the past few seasons; everything from red roses to Romanesque coin wreaths.
How big should you go?
It’s about adding to your hairstyle, giving it a final flourish. “Keep in mind what look and feel you’re going for and make accessories work for you, not against you,” says Uros Mikic, creative director of Matrix Australia. “You want to accentuate your look, not overtake it.”
What sort of things could you put in your hair?
“The choices are so varied; you can really have fun with accessories. From flowers to soft jewels, you really can use anything that will add to your overall look,” says Mikic.
Boho waves:

What is it?
A minimal wave in the hair that’s not quite curly, not quite straight, but somewhere in between.
Where did we see it?
On the Versace runway in Paris.
How can you achieve the look?
Despite looking effortless, boho waves can be hard to emulate when using heat tools. Instead, suggests Mikic, the best way to accomplish this look is by doing a simple plait. “Apply Matrix Style Link Volume Builder Mousse, $21.50, to wet hair and braid. Leave hair to dry; you can even go to bed with it in. Let the braid loose and apply Matrix Style Link Texture Builder, $21.50, and Matrix Style Link Height Riser Setter, $21.50, for soft, non-sticky texture.
Tip: Don’t use heavy products like gels or strong hairspray when styling to avoid over-burdening the soft waves.
