Cropped or pixie cut
Tool: Blowdryer with a nozzle.
What makes it so good: “It’s important to have a nozzle as it directs the flow of air, and then you can mould the hair using your fingers into the shape that you require,” says Beel.
Try: Parlux Hair Dryer, $275.
Add product: A great gloss like L’Oréal Professionnel Tecni.Art Metallic Gloss, $34, is amazing to define texture and give incredible shine.

The bob
Tool: “A good ceramic round brush is essential for this type of style to help tuck the ends under and give the look a smooth finish. When blow-drying, work section by section, clipping up certain segments. Dry with the air directed down the hair shaft and use the brush by tucking the ends under to give a classic finish.”
Try: ghd Ceramic Vented Radial Brush, $35.
Add product: L’Oréal Professionnel Tecni.Art Liss Control +, $34.

Long bombshell hair
Tool: “Use a hairdryer with a large natural bristle brush to encourage shine and create more ‘air’ in the hair. I then use a large barrel curling tong and curl all the hair; clip up as you go to help keep volume and root lift. Tip your head upside down and brush thoroughly before applying product. Flip head back and voilà… sex kitten hair!”
Try: ghd Air Hairdryer, $249; and Mason Pearson Brush, $276.
Add product: Add lift with L’Oréal Professionnel Tecni. Art Full Volume Extra, $34, then finish with hairspray such as L’Oréal Professionnel Infinium, $23.

The beachy lob
Tool: A curling wand works well with this length hair. “Pick random sections and wrap the mid-lengths to the ends around the wand in sporadic sections. Go in different directions to help keep it natural. Shake it out with your fingers.”
Try: Cloud Nine wand, $320.
Add product: L’Oréal Professionnel Tecni.Art Wild Stylers Beach Waves, $34.
