The fashion world mourned the passing of one of its great talents, with stars and designers alike paying tribute on social media
Oscar de la Renta, the beloved designer to the stars, passed away at the age of 82 on October 20.
The Dominican-born fashion designer had a hugely successful career spanning more than 50 years, during which time he dressed everyone from actresses and models to first ladies (including Michelle Obama).
He was known for his elegant, feminine and flattering gowns. Oprah Winfrey was a fan, as was Sarah Jessica Parker – she even wore his signature stitched onto the train of her dress at the Met Gala.
His passing has led to an outpouring of tributes on social media, as friends, family, peers and fans celebrate his enormous talent:
