My beauty philosophy is… There’s a lot of pressure on women of all ages to conform to a certain ideal. I say you should take pride in yourself and your appearance and make the most of what you have. Beauty is about many things – a great skincare regime, warm heart, confidence, a healthy diet and accepting who you are.

The skincare products I can’t live without are… The Sávar Essential Cleansing Lotion. A great multitasker, I also use it as an eye make-up remover and mix it with ground-down instant oats for a natural exfoliator. Sávar Wonder Lift Serumand the Sávar Luxury Travel Pack as it gives me five fabulous travel sizes that take me anywhere.

My haircare secret is… I’ve rediscovered the ponytail recently, which makes my busy life much easier. Each morning I use a little L’Oréal ProfessionnelTecni Art Super Dust which works wonders giving me extra volume. A real find for someone with fine hair.

The must-have products in my make-up bag are… I’m obsessed with lipstick and never leave the house without it! Just about every lipstick I own, and there are many, is from MAC.

I also love Clinique High Impact Volume Mascara, Mac Paint Pots and Mac eyeshadows and lip pencils. I always travel with a mineral powder to mix with my Sávar moisturiser, to make my own foundation.

My favourite beauty treat is… In the last few years I’ve discovered the delights of a massage. With more hours in the day, I’d adore one at least once a week. I also love it when my teenagers surprise me with a voucher for a pedicure.

My biggest beauty sin is… Although I’m careful these days about going out in the sun, I don’t like wearing a hat and I know I should. (I’m feeling guilty, I’ve always made my children wear hats).

The best thing my mother taught me about beauty was… She was incredibly well-groomed and passed on this value to me. Inner beauty was also key – show compassion, see the good in people and have a warm heart.
