10 easy home beauty hacks revealed

From egg whites to tomato sauce, these everyday household staples can help your beauty routine.
Cleansing is the first step of any beauty routine.

With bathroom cupboards full of the creams and potions we rely on to make us feel presentable each day, sometimes we just need a little extra to help us out.

And it turns out, the secret to shiny hair and glowing skin might be found in another room of the house – the kitchen!

Here are a collection of easy beauty hacks you can find around the house to round out your daily routine.

Salt

Salt

If you are after that beachy look for your hair, dissolve 2 teaspoons of sea salt and 1 teaspoon of melted coconut oil in 2 and a half cups of warm water. Pour into a spritzer when cool and away you go.

Green Tea

Green Tea

For an all natural toner, brew up a strong cup of green tea, let it cool and apply it to your face with a cotton ball.

beer

Beer

Pour a bottle of your favourite beer over your hair and massage in. After five minutes, rinse and your locks should be shiny and rid of the build up of day-to-day styling products.

Flour bicarb

Bicarb

Bicarbonate of Soda

Usually used in cooking, the pantry staple can make your skin glow if you combine it with a bit of water. Apply it to your face, and wash it off when it has dried.

Deo

Deodorant

Okay, this one isn’t from the pantry, but it’s still a goodie. While it might not seem it, the humble roll-on deodorant has more uses than just the one on the packet. Rolling clean deodorant over your feet can prevent them from blistering.

Cinnamon

Cinnamon

For a fuller pout, apply a mixture of ground cinnamon and Vitamin E oil to your lips. It might sting a little, but it should plump things up.

coconut oil

Coconut oil

It’s a bit of a wonder product (it is great for hair and skin) and coconut oil can even remove mascara. Rub a small amount over your lashes and wipe the smudges off with a damp cotton ball. Voila.

baby powder

Baby powder

For fuller, longer lashes, use a cotton bud to carefully coat your lashes with baby powder after one coat of mascara. Follow with a second coat, and the mascara should stick to the powder, giving you a boosted look.

Egg whites

Egg whites

Whisk up a couple of egg whites and dab them under your eyes for 30 minutes. As the egg dries, it will help tighten the skin.

Tomato sauce

Tomato sauce

This one’s a bit odd, but it works! Mix a couple of drops of lemon juice with a tablespoon of tomato sauce and apply to your face for 15 minutes. Wash it off and your pores should be a little less noticeable.
