The 2021 NZ Bachelor has been revealed!

Get ready for the second NZ love story of 2021.
TVNZ

Following on from The Bachelorette New Zealand, our very first celebrity bachelor will embark on his quest for love, and he’s a face you might just be familiar with!

As one part of a musical trio Sol3 Mio, Moses Mackay is used to life on the road. With Covid-19 preventing travel for overseas concerts, the baritone singer is swapping his mic for a rose and taking up the role as The Bachelor.

The 30-year-old is hoping to find someone special. Having spent most of his life selflessly putting others first, he’s taking this opportunity as a chance to put himself out there.

This isn’t the first-time viewers will have seen Moses on TVNZ 2. Moses took part in the popular reality series Celebrity Treasure Island in 2019, where he competed for his chosen charity The Dream Chaser Foundation, which raises awareness about the bone marrow registry. Moses actually thinks his camp team swap during the game was more daunting than meeting 18 hopeful bachelorettes!

From rose ceremonies to cocktail parties, stunning New Zealand adventures and romantic dates, our group of bachelorettes will be vying for our suave gent’s attention, in the hopes of coming

away with the final rose.

Why did you decide to sign up to be The Bachelor?

Being a musician, being an artist, you’re always travelling around the world, you’re always living a very peculiar life – not your typical. I’ve been in a serious relationship and coming out of it, for a long time, I didn’t think I was ready to step into the realm of dating and being vulnerable. And then this happened to come up, while I’m home, busy doing different types of stuff here in New Zealand, and c’est la vie. Life’s about journeys, life’s about experiences, and this is just another one!

What did your family say when you told them you were The Bachelor?

When I told my Mum she said “no”, out of worry as mothers do. I’ve always looked after the family rather than looking after myself, so my mum saw it as a chance to put myself first and hopefully find my person. All my friends just laughed at the thought and egged me to go on so they could watch me and laugh with me!

What are you hoping to get out of this experience? Are you going in with any expectations?

I have no expectations at all going into this – it’s not something I ever thought I’d do in a million years. It’s a new adventure.

Will we see your famous crocs this season during any of the cocktail parties?

Yes. Present!

Hosted by Art Green, The Bachelor New Zealand will premiere on TVNZ 2, March 2 at 7:30PM and will be a multi-night journey airing Monday – Wednesday.
