Who will take out the top prize in the MKR NZ final?

Who will win the $100K?

After weeks of sizzling competition, it’s finale week for My Kitchen Rules NZ!

Last night’s show saw two teams compete in a sudden-death cook-off, creating a three-course dinner to impress a table of Kiwi comedians and judges Manu Fieldel and Colin Fassnidge.

Sadly we saw gate-crashers Jess and Cindy eliminated from the competition, which means that tonight’s fiery finale is between Vikki & Pascal and Matt & Kurt.

Tonight’s finalists face off at two of the coutnry’s most prestigious restaurants, serving up a four-course menu in the hopes of taking home the $100,000 prize.

We caught up with MKR NZ judge Manu Fieldel to talk about his favourite things and his cookbook recommendation for any budding chef.

Tune in for tonight’s unmissable episode of MKR NZ at 7.30pm on TVNZ 2.

Manu Fieldel’s favourite things

What is your top cooking tip?

Keep it simple and season. The more complicated you get, the more you’re going to stuff it up.

Favourite meal?

My wife’s cooking is always delicious. We used to go out all the time and then we had the kids. Now we love being at home and cooking for each other.

What is your music obsession?

I love Elvis Presley’s Blue Suede Shoes.

Top book recommendation?

Kitchen Confidential by Anthony Bourdain. Every chef who reads it sees themselves in that book.

Tell us your best binge watch.

I binged all six seasons of Vikings in three or four episodes a day. Also Peaky Blinders – love it!

What’s your podcast recommendation?

The Mentor With Mark Bouris. I run a few businesses myself and he interviews business owners who started from nothing and built up big brands. It’s very interesting. Everyone has a different story but the same journey.

Which app do you use the most?

Instagram, unfortunately. It’s good when you want to switch off from work and just scroll through reels.

Favourite movie?

Scarface is a really old classic I could watch again and again without being bored.

The MKR NZ finale airs 7.30pm tonight (Tuesday 28 November) on TVNZ 2
