It’s nearly a decade since Melbourne-based dentist Matt Hopcraft last faced the MasterChef judges. Now he’s ready for another roll of the dice – and the pasta dough!

“There’s something magical about this kitchen,” smiles Matt, 53. “And it’s no longer just a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. You’d be crazy not to come back.”

The former CEO of the Australian Dental Association became famous for the impressive pasta repertoire that saw him come sixth in 2015. Since then, Matt’s been working hard to raise awareness of mental health issues in dentistry.

“It’s a hidden problem in the profession,” he reveals. “We have high levels of stress and burnout.”
