Louise Wallace: Why McDonald’s would be my last meal

Who would have thought?

My typical day…

is always different, depending on whether I have a project on. I travel quite a lot, so I’m always planning the next trip: accommodation, restaurants, show tickets, transport. I love organising, especially lunches or dinners with my friends. I’ve found that most people love someone to take over and do the organising – they just want to turn up.

I exercise most days: gym on Tuesday, boxing on Friday, power walking the other days. I’ve just started yoga to help me breathe; I hold my breath and tend to grind my teeth. Exercise always ends in coffee at one of our local cafés.

I check my social media – all four sites – and think about what I’m going to write for my blog on my website. I may spend the afternoon learning lines if I’m rehearsing for a play or about to shoot a telly job.

My main form of relaxation…

is watching TV. I love dramas the best: The Fall, Fortitude, Happy Valley, Apple Tree Yard. Any book or film that has impending doom on the first page is my preference.

About once a week…

I speak to my kids, who live in Sydney – more often if there’s a problem. I believe in giving them plenty of space – that’s probably why they’re so independent and grounded. I have to say, I feel incredibly grateful for the hand fate has dealt me so far. I never take any of this for granted.
