Lamar Odom has been transported via a medical helicopter from Las Vegas’ Sunrise Hospital to another hospital in Los Angeles as part of the next step in his journey to recovery, a week after he was found unconscious at a Nevada brothel.
The former NBA star regained consciousness on Friday last week after a four-day coma, during which he suffered several strokes.
Doctors initially intubated him, but Lamar is said to be breathing on his own now and seems to be showing signs of improvement. However, there is still a long way to go for the 35-year-old.
People reports that Lamar’s estranged wife Khloe Kardashian, who has not left his side throughout his traumatic ordeal, has gone with him to the new hospital along with several nurses.
“Lamar still can’t walk but has left the hospital in a bed,” a source told People.
“He’s responsive, but there are so many things that could go wrong right now, and the doctors have still been guarded.
“Khloe has been praying a lot, both to herself and out loud to Lamar. She wants him to know that she’s still on his side, and that everyone is praying for him.”
