Another couple has left Dancing with the Stars NZ after last night’s elimination episode, leaving eight celebrities still in the running for the grand title.
After Sunday’s performances, Teuila Blakely and Scott Cole were in the lead thanks to their memorable rumba, followed by high scorers Siobhan Marshall and Simon Barnett.
On the other end of the scoreboard, Ben Barrington and Pam Corkery were the lowest ranked after failing to impress with their Latin night dances.
However, host Dominic Bowden revealed both Ben and Pam were safe for the week. Instead, it was Chrystal Chenery and Colin Mathura-Jeffree in danger, despite scoring 22 and 19 points, respectively, for their dances on Sunday night.
In the end, Colin and his pro partner Kristie Williams who were eliminated, leaving Kristie in tears and the judges frustrated.
“It’s totally wrong. They don’t deserve it,” Candy Lane said.
On his Instagram last night, Colin thanked fans for their support and said the show was an “incredible adventure”.
“I loved all the other co stars & especially my co star Kristie Williams from LimeLight dance studio. She and I became such brats instantly laughing & pranking, then all of a sudden I realised I’ve made a lifelong friend,” Colin wrote in a post.
“Good luck to all other teams and charities and thank you NZ for your support.”
