Natalia Kills and Willy Moon face backlash over X Factor comments

The two judges prompted a storm of controversy last night after they judged Joe Irvine's performance

Natalia, 28, wasn’t afraid to let rip with her thoughts on how X Factor hopeful Joe was a “doppelganger” for her husband and fellow judge Willy Moon on last night’s show.

“As an artist who respects creative integrity and intellectual property, I am disgusted at how much you have copied my husband, from the hair to the suit,” she began.

“I am embarrassed to be sitting here in your presence having to even dignify you with an answer of my opinion … it’s disgusting, you make me sick …” she went on as the audience began hissing and booing in response.

Stan Walker tried to cut in with a comment about how Natalia’s own style was modelled on Cleopatra’s, but Willy quickly followed up with his own criticisms of Joe.

“It’s just a little bit creepy … I feel like you’re going to stitch someone’s skin to your face and then kill everyone in the audience,” he said, comparing Joe to the character Norman Bates in Psycho.

The husband-and-wife duo’s comments didn’t sit well with many Kiwis, who took to Twitter to post their responses to the drama.

A Facebook page calling for Natalia Kills to be fired from the show has already gained over 41,000 likes, and a petition on Change.org has 35,335 supporters so far.

Natalia’s only response to the incident so far has been on Twitter, where she wrote that she had “the most fun at the live shows tonight” and had gained “so many new followers”.
