This week is huge for the royals as they ring in the Queen's Platinum Jubilee, but the celebrations also fall on her great-granddaughter Lilibet's first birthday.
It's even more exciting because Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex are going to be in the United Kingdom – and they have organised her birthday celebrations while they're there.
Details of the milestone occasion have come to light, and it appears the royal couple are holding a party at their Windsor residence, Frogmore Cottage.
However, reports have surfaced revealing her aunt and uncle, Prince William and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, won't be attending.
Considering there are many functions and responsibilities the couple must carry out during the Queen's Jubilee as working royals, they are likely too busy to make it to the birthday bash.
This will be the first time Harry, Meghan and both their children will be in the UK. The couple stepped down as senior royals and relocated to California in March 2020 with their son Archie.
The news of their Jubilee attendance was announced in early May by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
A spokesperson shared, "Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, are excited and honoured to attend The Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations this June with their children."
It's uncertain what part the family will play during the long weekend, but one detail is certain, they will not join their fellow family members on the balcony during Trooping the Colour, as the Palace announced that only working royals will be there.
The Queen's Platinum Jubilee is an historical moment for the monarchy as she is the first monarch to reach 70 years of service.
The UK will enjoy a four-day public holiday that will last from June 2 to June 5, and festivities will include her annual official birthday tradition of Trooping the Colour as well as a Service of Thanksgiving at St. Paul's Cathedral.
Buckingham Palace will also be brought to life by a Platinum Party at the Palace, where some of the world's biggest performers will take to the stage in honour of Her Majesty.
