Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, was reportedly in talks to host the popular American comedy show Saturday Night Live (SNL) late last year.
According to multiple sources who spoke to Page Six, the producers of the long-running NBC show were in discussions with Harry and wanted him to host in the lead up to the release of his memoir, Spare.

Harry’s been behind the camera for much of his up-bringing, so hosting would come naturally to the prince.
One insider stated that Harry was extremely eager to participate and the entire SNL cast and crew was thrilled to potentially work with him.
“I know that Harry was all in, he was really serious about doing it, and it would have been great fun as promo for the book.”

SNL have previously featured comedy sketches of actors depicting the British Royal Family. (
“SNL producers have been after Harry for a while. Everyone on the show was really into the idea, and people would definitely have tuned in,” the insider continued.
Another industry insider confirmed the talks, saying that while many were being considered, Harry’s name was definitely brought up more than once.
Obviously, Harry never ended up hosting SNL and, currently, the reason for the talks not materialising into him actually doing the gig is unknown.
