Kate, who is suffering from the same acute morning sickness she experienced while pregnant with baby George, has had to cancel several appearances at public events like the Invictus Games.
However, the royal tour of Malta will still go ahead, albeit without the stylish Duchess. It has been confirmed that her hubby William will handle the tour duties instead, while Kate continues to recuperate.
“HRH continues to suffer from Hyperemesis Gravidarum. The decision was taken on the advice of doctors,” Clarence House tweeted yesterday.
“The Duke of Cambridge is honoured to represent The Queen on the visit, which commemorates the 50th anniversary of Malta’s independence.”
Unfortunately, Kate’s condition meant she also missed out on Prince Harry’s 30th birthday celebrations, which reportedly had a “ski-themed” nightclub setting.
