As a royal patron of the charity Place2Be, Catherine is helping promote the UK’s first ever Children’s Mental Health Week. In her heartfelt video for the charity, the Duchess of Cambridge speaks about having seen many children struggling to cope with different pressures, from bullying to family breakdown.

She warns that without the right support, these can lead to more serious effects later on, including depression, anxiety, addiction and even self-harm.

“We need to help young people and their parents understand that it’s not a sign of weakness to ask for help.”

“A child’s mental health is just as important as their physical health, and deserves the same quality of support,” she said.
