Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter and singer Rihanna are set to join the all-female cast of the upcoming Ocean’s Eleven reboot, reportedly dubbed Ocean’s Ocho.
Sandra Bullock and Cate Blanchett have previously been rumoured to be heading up the cast of women for the heist movie, which is being helmed by Hunger Games director Gary Ross.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, production is due to start in October in New York. Actress/writer Mindy Kaling and hip-hop star Awkwafina (real name Nora Lum) are also said to be rounding out the new cast.
George Clooney, who famously starred in the all-male 2001 version of the film series, was said to have worked closely with Ocean’s Eleven director Steven Soderbergh to help bring this new project to life.
Sandra – who is close pals with George and starred with him in 2013’s Gravity and more recently, Our Brand is Crisis – is rumoured to be playing the ex-con sister of George’s character Danny Ocean.
The upcoming film isn’t the only gender-swapped reboot making waves in Hollywood. This year also saw the release of an all-female version of Ghostbusters starring Melissa McCarthy and Kristen Wiig, which debuted to mixed reviews.
