They’ve been labelled the “Logan bogans” and had doubt cast on their cooking abilities, but this week, Brisbane besties Lauren “Lol” Argyle and Lilly “Lil” Mckay make it to MKR Australia’s Kitchen Headquarters – and they’re thrilled!
“Walking through those doors was incredible,” grins Lol, 26. A proud Lil, 25, adds, “We were just screaming!”

Tensions rise at the dinner table
Lol admits, “In the first round, it really got under my skin, hearing that from Michael.”
Then once the gatecrashers arrived, the chaos around the dinner table was dialled up a notch.
“We went home with a lot of headaches,” says Lil.
“Me and Lol don’t like to get involved, but it’s hard to watch the drama unfold. It was quite overwhelming.”
Lol agrees, “It was – and we couldn’t really get a word in.”
Learning from Manu and Colin
That said, the pair believes they’ve learnt a lot from their fellow teams, as well as judges Manu Feildel and Colin Fassnidge.
Lil tells, “We really listened to every critique from Manu and Colin about our food, and everyone else’s food, then we took that on board.”
But at Kitchen HQ, the pressure really escalates and Lol gets emotional.
“I care a lot about what we’re doing,” she explains.
“I’m very passionate and very emotional, and I really, really want to prove everyone wrong. So when it starts going south, I get upset because I know we can do it.”
