Competing on MKR is a dream come true for Queensland besties Lil, 25, and Lol, 26. Here they chat to Woman’s Day about their “wild” experience!
How long have you been friends?
Lol Our whole lives – I’ve known Lil since she was born.
Lil Our mums are best friends, so we grew up together.
Lol They can’t wait to see us on TV!
One of the other contestants labels you the Logan Bogans because you hail from Logan in Queensland – did that offend you?
Lol No, we’re proud of where we’re from and we can’t wait for Australia to see us
Do people often underestimate you?
Lil A lot of people on the show underestimated us. We’re excited to show them what we can do.
Did going on the show test your friendship at all?
Lil No. It made us stronger.
What’s the best thing about your friendship?
Lil Being able to balance each other out and being honest.
Lol It’s unconditional. We’re just always there for each other. There’s no judgment at any time.
Have you been cooking since you were little?
Lol I’ve been in the kitchen since I was three with my grandma on the bench and stool – just cooking delicious desserts and sweets.
Lil my cooking came a bit later after watching cooking shows.
Lol, you cook one of your grandma’s favourite recipes on MKR – how long has it been since she passed?
Lol My Grandma passed away in 2018.
I imagine she would be so proud to see you on TV cooking – especially one of her recipes!
Lol She would be so proud. I would just love to have a chat with her right now. She’s the only person I want that in-person reaction from, because she would be over the moon.
Do you have different strengths in the kitchen?
Lol Definitely. Lil is more savoury and spices and I love desserts.
Lol, you’d never left Queensland – and neither of you have done reality TV before – has this experience boosted your confidence?
Lol I feel a lot more confident. It was a crazy experience never having been on a plane, never having left Queensland and then going and travelling Australia was mind-blowing.
Have you got the travel bug now?
Lol I do! I think I’m going to go and explore Europe next year.
Were Colin and Manu fair with their judging?
Lol Yeah, we love Colin and Manu. They were great.

Lil It depends on the day!
