Married at First Sight couple Rhi Disljenkovic and Jeff Gobbels have officially parted ways after two years together.
Rhi announced today on her Instagram stories, “With a heavy heart, I want to share that Jeff and I have decided to part ways. This has been one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever had to make. I’m incredibly grateful for the love we shared and all of the memories we created.”
She shared, “Thank you to everyone who supported us throughout our relationship and followed along on our journey. Your kindness means more than you know, and I appreciate your respect and understanding as we move forward.”
Fans had been speculating for some time that the pair had split, and then recently noticed that they had unfollowed each other on social media.
Jeff has also now announced the split on his Instagram, sharing, “After a lot of thought, unfortunately my relationship has ended. This has been an incredibly difficult time and I’m trying to navigate this as best as I can.”
“I’m grateful for the memories and genuine love we shared over the years. Thank you for supporting our relationship, being part of our journey and respecting my privacy during this time.”
Matched on Season 12 of the show, the pair made history as the first couple who had a previous dating history. “It was a shock,” Rhi admitted at the time, sharing. “I was expecting to marry a stranger.”
The couple came out the strongest, sharing in their final vows that they were falling in love with each other. The couple moved in together shortly after filming the show.
While season 12 of the series had ups and downs for many of the contestants, Rhi and Jeff stayed loyal to one another throughout – at times making them the “boring couple” of the show.
Rhi revealed in an interview last year that they still hadn’t had any fights since filming wrapped, saying, “Maybe the public’s right – we are boring!”
No other announcements have been made by either Rhi or Jeff about their split.
