It’s homestay week on MAFS, and Jacqui and Ryan’s time away is one to watch. One minute on MAFS, Jacqui Burfoot and Ryan Donnelly are taking loved-up selfies. The next, they’re lecturing each other. And in this week’s episodes, their tumultuous relationship culminates in explosive drama.
Their homestay leads to yet another almighty row for Kiwi-born beauty queen Jacqui, 29, and project manager Ryan, 36, and this one could be the one that finally spells the end of the line for the controversial couple.
“Jacqui and Ryan’s relationship is always on the rocks in my eyes,” says fellow participant Beth Kelly, 28. “Watching it, we were kind of like, ‘Is this just another mini blow-up? Are they going to be dancing and twirling again in 10 seconds?’”
Heading off to stay at Ryan’s house in Sydney, the couple are soon bickering on a dog walk, before getting into a heated exchange at a pub, which Jacqui flees in tears. “It was a confusing roller coaster,” Beth comments.
While British-born salon manager Beth has empathy for Jacqui, Melbourne electrician Jeff Gobbels jumps to Ryan’s defence after he realises Jacqui has been telling lies.
“I learnt that when she read back her feedback letter to Ryan, sheleft out a key couple of pieces of information,” explains Jeff, 40. “When I heard that, I called her out and, of course, major drama follows.”
