When you’re part of the A-list, battling hordes of paparazzi comes with the territory – but for Deadpool actor Ryan Reynolds, it was an old friend who proved untrustworthy when it came to pictures of his baby girl James Reynolds.
In a new interview with GQ, the Canadian actor revealed that a friend he had grown up with and known for 25 years tried to sell photos of James that Ryan had sent to him for substantial sums of money.
“A guy that I’d known for my whole life, one of my closest friends growing up, he had been shopping pictures of my baby around,” Ryan told the magazine.
Luckily, the now ex-friend wasn’t able to get very far before Ryan found out, but the actor said the discovery of the friend’s betrayal felt “like a death”.
“It was like one of those devastating things to find out,” Ryan said.
Ever since his daughter was born in December last year, Ryan has been happily settled into domestic bliss with wife Blake Lively. The first-time dad simply dotes on his adorable little girl, and he told GQ that all those “clichés” about having a child are totally true.
“Like, there is this kid here that I would walk through fire for. Or maybe not fire. Like, a very hot pavement, I’d walk through. A shag rug,” he told the magazine.
