It was the girl power movie that captured the hearts of an entire generation, and now, 15 years later, Legally Blonde’s Reese Witherspoon is taking a trip down memory lane to relive her star-making turn as the feisty Elle Woods.
Taking to Instagram and Snapchat to give fans a glimpse of her treasured possessions from the set of the film, the 40-year-old Oscar winner showed she could still fit into her beloved character’s signature ensembles – including that eye-catching bikini that made it into her application video for Harvard Law, and the infamous bunny costume from the non-costume party!

And of course, the star was more than ready to demonstrate the perfect ‘bend and snap’ movement made famous by the film.
In an interview with Instagram to celebrate the anniversary, Reese joked that she’d be doing the bend and snap for many years to come.

“That is still the most asked request I get from people,” she revealed.
“I have a feeling I will be doing the bend and snap until I am 95.”
The mum of three – she shares Ava, 16, and Deacon, 12, with ex Ryan Phillippe, and three-year-old Tennessee with husband Jim Toth – went on to reveal the film had made a big impact on many women.
“I have had so many women say, ‘I went to law school because of Legally Blonde,'” Reese said.
“It actually had a meaningful story. And it was about female empowerment. It wasn’t necessarily about the girl getting the guy.”

Of course, Reese has taken on many more roles since first stepping into the heels of Elle Woods, but the actress hinted she was more than ready to revive the character in an interview in October last year.
“A lot of writers over the years have come up with different ideas for it,” she said at the time.
“I actually think it’s kind of great right now because we’re talking about women in politics and how important that is to get more women. And I think it’d be kind of a cool thing to have her be a Supreme Court justice or someone who runs for office, like president!”
As long as Bruiser’s along for the ride, we can’t wait to see where the future Elle Woods goes!
