She charmed audiences all over the world with her role as sorority girl-turned-lawyer Elle Woods in the Legally Blonde films, and now Reese Witherspoon has revealed she’s ready to return to the beloved character for a third outing!
During an interview on Fashionably Late with Rachel Zoe, the 39-year-old actress implied the time was right to return to her breakout role, over ten years on from the release of the original film.
“I think we’re ready to see Elle and see what she’s up to lately,” she told hosts Rachel Zoe and Derek Blasberg.
Reese even revealed that writers had already pitched several ideas for the film over the years, but she personally wanted to see Elle as a powerful female figure in politics or the justice system.
“I think it’d be kind of a cool thing to have her be a Supreme Court Justice, or somebody who runs for office,” she said, before adding that perhaps Elle could run for president.
While there aren’t any official plans to greenlight the third film just yet, it looks like Reese is already on board!
