Patrick and Jillian Dempsey have celebrated a major milestone – 25 years of marriage! The Hollywood power couple, who met in 1994 at Jillian’s salon when she was working as a hairstylist, have built a love story that has spanned decades.
Today, Jillian is a successful makeup artist with her own brand and Patrick is still the beloved actor fans fell for as “McDreamy” in his Grey’s Anatomy days.
But their journey hasn’t been without challenges. In 2015, the pair announced their plans to divorce, leaving fans shocked.
However, in a testament to their enduring commitment, Patrick and Jillian worked through their difficulties, choosing to stay together.
The Bridget Jones’s Baby actor recently shared, “Our marriage was not something I was prepared to let go of. I didn’t feel like we had done all the work and we both wanted to do that work. That’s where it started.”
Now stronger than ever, they’re proving that love really can go the distance, even in Hollywood. To mark their 25th anniversary, Patrick shared a heartfelt tribute to Jillian on Instagram, writing, “25 years, it feels like just yesterday! I can’t get over how quickly the time has gone by. Life would not be the same without you…
“The love of my life, I’m truly grateful for all that you do and who you are.”
His moving post was filled with love and admiration for his wife, calling her an incredible mother, wife and friend.
Jillian also took to social media to celebrate the occasion, sharing a playful post in which she expressed her love for her husband: “Happy 25th, baby @patrickdempsey! Vintage moments to cherish. I love you beyond words and our wonderful children.”
Patrick – who was named Sexiest Man Alive in 2023 –and Jillian are parents to Talula, 22, plus 18-year-old twins Darby and Sullivan.
Their fairytale romance is one for the ages. It also reminds us all that true love endures, even in the bright lights of Hollywood.
Patrick’s first wife was 27 years his senior
Patrick’s first marriage raised plenty of eyebrows! In 1987, at 21, he tied the knot with actress Rocky Parker, who was 27 years his senior at 48. The whirlwind romance shocked many, but after seven years together, the couple called it quits in 1994, citing irreconcilable differences. It’s reported that Patrick told Rocky, who died in 2014, that he’d met Jillian, leading to their divorce.
