Oprah has mastered talk shows, reality television, public speaking and magazines – now she’s about to launch her own cookbook.
The pop culture icon’s Food, Health and Happiness: ‘On Point’ Recipes for Great Meals and a Better Life is scheduled to come out in January next year.
“In the past several months on Weight Watchers, I have worked with wonderful chefs to make healthier versions of my favorite meals,” Oprah said in a statement.
“When people come to my house for lunch or dinner, the number one thing they ask is, ‘How is this so delicious and still healthy?’ So I decided to answer that question with recipes everyone can enjoy.”
The 62-year-old recently revealed how her journey to get healthy has been tough, but she is still refusing to give up two things: alcohol and bread.
Oprah told US Weekly that she saves her Weight Watchers “splurge” points for her favourite treats.
“Tequila shots or a glass of wine. [My best friend] Gayle [King] is losing weight faster than I am because she doesn’t drink any alcohol,” Oprah told the magazine.
“But I will not give up my wine!”
This won’t be Oprah’s first time in the cookbook world – her personal chef, Rosie Daley, released In the Kitchen with Rosie: Oprah’s Favorite Recipes in 1994.
