NZ Netball Awards winners revealed

Laura Langman and Kayla Cullen have been crowned the winners at this year’s inaugural ceremony

Netball’s top Kiwi stars were honoured tonight at the New Zealand Netball Awards, with Silver Ferns vice-captain Laura Langman scooping up several of the most prestigious nods.

At tonight’s inaugural ceremony, Laura was named the winner of the Dame Lois Muir Supreme Award, which recognises the best netballer across the ANZ Championship and Silver Ferns campaigns each year. It is named after Dame Lois Muir DNZM OBE, one of the most influential figures in the history of netball.

Laura was also named the New Zealand ANZ Championship Player of the Year and the Silver Ferns Player of the Year to boot, making her one of the brightest stars of the night!

She wasn’t the only Silver Fern to be crowned a winner tonight, however. Midcourter Kayla Cullen won the Woman’s Day People’s Choice Award, capping off a stellar season where the 23-year-old made a triumphant comeback after undergoing knee reconstruction surgery.

Congratulations to Laura, Kayla and the other winners at the New Zealand Netball Awards!
