Congratulations are in order for Mel Gibson and Rosalind Ross!
The actor’s rep confirmed to People magazine that the couple, who have been together for two years, welcomed a healthy baby boy called Lars Gerard Gibson in LA on Friday, January 20.
“They’re thrilled and Lars is adorable. Their family is all around them and Mel is over the moon. They’re home and everybody is healthy and happy,” a source revealed to the publication.
While this is Mel and Rosalind’s first child together, Lars will be joining a big family of loving siblings.
Mel already has seven children from his 28-year marriage to ex-wife Robyn Moore.
Following their split in 2011, Mel went on to briefly date Oksana Grigorieva, and they share a seven-year-old daughter called Lucia.
The Hacksaw Ridge director recently joked he was more than ready for the challenge of another newborn.
“What’s one more? I’m just there to catch. I’m too old to get nervous. I think my adrenals are worn out so I don’t even react anymore,” Mel quipped to Extra.
As for his romance with former equestrian star Rosalind, Mel tells his critics age is nothing more than a number.
“Regarding age and relationships, it’s just a number. We dig each other,” he revealed to The Mirror.
“It might cause a problem and one has a trepidation about these things, but it’s working out great. She is a really special person.”
Congrats Mel and Rosalind on your new bundle of joy!

Rosalind and Mel have confirmed the safe arrival of their son.
