Lorde has taken the Silver Scroll, New Zealand’s top songwriting award, for a second time after being awarded it in 2013 for her first song ‘Royals.’
The hit song ‘Green Light’, which she produced alongside Jack Antonoff and Joel Little, was the first song released off her most recent album Melodrama.
Lorde wasn’t there in person to accept her award so instead sent her acceptance speech via video.
“I can’t believe it. I really wanted to win the Silver Scroll Award, I just feel like it’s so prestigious and important. I always love and respect the songs that end up in the Silver Scrolls,” she says.
“The second it came out, I knew it felt like a bit of my heart, right in the song. Thank you so much, I wish I was there!”
