According to Mr Litz, there were problems with Lisa Marie’s finances and how Michael was managing them.

“He apparently was in charge of her assets throughout the marriage and didn’t do what he should have done on a fiduciary basis,” he told People.

“He took advantage of her.”

The couple – who tied the knot in Japan in 2006 – have two children together, twin daughters Harper Vivienne Ann and Finley Aaron Love. Lisa Marie has asked for full custody of the girls, offering Michael monitored visitation.

While Lisa Marie’s petition for divorce has since been updated to legal separation instead, Litz told People there was no chance of the couple reconciling.

“They’re not trying to work it out and get back together. She’s done.”

The pair had already been separated for some time before Lisa Marie filed for divorce on June 13, with Litz revealing that Michael moved out of the couple’s home at least a month ago.

This is the fourth marriage for Lisa Marie, who was previously wed to musician Danny Keough (with whom she shares two children, Danielle Riley and Benjamin), Michael Jackson and Nicolas Cage.
