Justin Bieber takes a thrill ride on Queenstown’s Shotover Jet

He thrilled Auckland fans at his Purpose Tour concert over the weekend, but pop superstar Justin Bieber looked to be having some fun of his own during a trip to Queenstown, where he was pictured on the Shotover Jet with pals.

Donning a rain jacket and life vest over his white jumper, the ‘Sorry’ singer could be seen taking in the scenery as he sat on the jet with his buddies.

Justin, 23, was seen flying into the picturesque South Island town on Sunday in his own private jet, after wrapping up a concert for thousands of enthusiastic fans at Auckland’s Mt Smart stadium on Saturday night.

On touchdown in Queenstown, he was reportedly picked up at the airport and taken to The Hills lodge, an exclusive resort and golf course in Arrowtown that costs a whopping $32,250 per night during the high season from August to June.

This isn’t the first time the popstar has visited Kiwi shores, having toured here in 2010, 2013 and in 2015 for a radio station promotion.

His visit comes after he hit headlines for off-stage antics while in Australia, where he played several shows as part of his Purpose World Tour. In Melbourne, he was filmed telling a fan “you make me sick” after she attempted to snap a selfie with him as he was making his way back to his car.

The 23-year-old could be seen taking in the picturesque scenery from the Shotover Jet.

He also reportedly partied with “hand-picked models” who had signed nondisclosure agreements on a boat in Melbourne, according to The Daily Telegraph.

However, Justin’s New Zealand visit proved to be smoother sailing, with Wakatipu High School student Nell Watherston, 14, telling Stuff she saw him twice, once in Auckland and once in Arrowtown, where he stopped to talk with about 60 fans who had been waiting an hour to catch a glimpse of him.

“He said, ‘Hi girls, how are you?’” she told the media outlet.

“We apologised for interfering but he said, ‘Don’t be sorry for something you haven’t done.’”

Justin’s next Purpose World Tour stop is in Santiago, Chile, on March 23.
