Justin Bieber breaks down in tears at One Love Manchester concert

The pop star was overcome with emotion as he took to the stage for the One Love benefit concert: "You guys are so brave."

Ariana Grande’s One Love Manchester benefit concert has seen an unbelievable line-up of incredible artists and special guests pay tribute to the victims of the terrorist attacks in Manchester and London in the last week.

As well as an emotional Kiwi song performance by Ariana and Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry, The Black Eyed Peas and Take That also took to the stage for Manchester fans.

Joining them on stage was Justin Bieber who performed his hits Love Yourself and Cold Water, clearly overcome with emotion as he delivered a stirring speech beforehand.

“Thank you so much for having me,” he told the crowd at the Old Trafford.

“I just want to honor those who were lost, those that were taken from us,” he said as he fought back tears. “We love you so much, to the families we love you so much. Put both hands up to honor those people right now.”

He continued: “You guys are so brave.”

“What an amazing thing we’re doing tonight, would you agree that love always wins?

“What a better way than to fight evil with evil, is to fight evil with good? Would you guys agree with that?”

After performing his first song of the evening, Justin fought back tears as he told the crowd: “God is good is the midst of the evil. God is good in the midst of the darkness. He loves you.”

Justin also encouraged the crowd to chant “love, love, love”, before performing his second song.

The benefit event was held after terrorism again struck London yesterday, where seven people were killed.

Yesterday Ariana’s manager, Scooter Braun released the following statement confirming that the the concert would go on as planned.

He called the event a “statement that hatred and fear will never win”.

“Today’s One Love Manchester benefit concert will not only continue, but will do so with greater purpose,” Braun said.

“We must not be afraid and in tribute to all those affected here and around the world, we will bring our voices together and sing loudly.”

All proceeds from the concert, which took place at the Emirates Old Trafford stadium in the city, are going to the Red Cross’s Manchester Emergency Fund to help victims and families impacted by the attack.

Those who were at Ariana’s original gig were offered free tickets, and additional tickets sold out in just six minutes.
