He was once a try-scoring machine, now rugby great Jonah Lomu has found himself a new gig – inside a vending machine! The former All Black has been pranking patrons in a Dublin pub by hiding in a quiz machine, then dispensing personalised autographed rugby balls to their befuddlement.
Jonah was in Ireland to launch Heineken’s “It’s Your Call” Rugby World Cup 2015 campaign. He squeezed himself into a coin operated quiz machine at Harry Byrnes pub and waited for punters to try their luck. While they answered a series of questions, Jonah would quickly sign a rugby ball with the person’s name and a compliment like “love the top” before popping it through the vending machine slot.
“The Irish are known for their sense of humour across the world, so I was delighted to put that to the test,” Jonah said afterwards. “Seeing peoples’ faces as they tried to figure out what was going on was a real highlight.”
