There’s been plenty of talk about how slim Lily’s waist looks in the ballroom scene from the upcoming Cinderella movie. So much so, some have even been wondering whether a bit of digital magic was involved!
Now, however, the 25-year-old actress has spoken out about the rumours, revealing that most of the magic was in the dress itself.
According to Lily, the beautiful ball dress from the film (created by costume designer Sandy Powell) was designed specifically to pull in at the waist.

“But also, the fact that the skirt’s so big, it’s almost an illusion. It looks way smaller than it is,” she revealed at a press event for the movie.
Lily also wore a corset for the ball gown, which led to some uncomfortable filming experiences – especially for her costar Richard Madden!
“At lunchtime, I would untie it so I could eat, but during the day, I had soup and stuff so it would go down,” she told People.
“I would burp in [Richard Madden]’s face like all day!”
Rest assured, the actress is a big fan of food and says she’s all about a healthy outlook on life.
“I think it’s so important to be healthy and confident and natural and not put too much stress on trying to be thin,” she told E! News.
