Canadian-American singer-songwriter Robin Thicke’s number-one track Blurred Lines, featuring Pharrell Williams and T.I., has dominated the airwaves for months, but the rest of the album doesn’t warrant the same repeat airplay. While the title track has funky complexity, thanks to a heavy sample of Marvin Gaye’s disco anthem Got to Give it Up, the rest of the album feels much more hollow. Ooo La La and Ain’t No Hat For That carry on the groovy beats, but the singer’s falsetto is grating on tracks such as Give It 2 U, and his lyrics have a lecherous feel.
