Veteran broadcaster Peter Williams has served New Zealand well over the past 40-years on our screens, but has now decided it’s time to retire.
Williams began his career in broadcasting as a sports reporter where he covered events such as the Olympic and Commonwealth games.
He was also a long-time newsreader on TVNZ Breakfast before they revamped in July last year.
In an interview with The Bay of Plenty Times, Williams expressed his modesty by stating, “I’ve had a pretty good run, been to a few places and done enough stuff.”
He is set to leave TVNZ in December 2018 after he celebrates his 65th birthday.
We will be sad to see you go Peter Williams!
