Fans of rival 90’s boy bands Westlife and Boyzone might just have gotten the best news ever, as stars Brian McFadden and Keith Duffy have confirmed they will be embarking on a tour together under the supergroup moniker ‘Boyzlife’.
There are “no limits” to what the future holds for Boyzlife, the pair told The Sun. Their initial 12-date tour of the UK and Ireland will kick off with a London show in October, featuring both bands’ biggest hits.
“There’s no limit to this. We’re going out there with our ears and eyes open,” Keith told The Sun.
“Keith and I have always been great friends and we’ve wanted to work together for quite a while now,” Brian said in a press release announcing the news.
“With the amount of stories between us we knew it would make for a great live show, mixed in with a few songs!”
While the supergroup appears to consist of just Brian and Keith for now, the two haven’t ruled out the possibility of getting the full nine-strong ensemble together on stage at some point in the future.
“We could end up adding more people to the next one. Right now, this is about me and Keith but the door is always open,” Brian told The Sun.
He even hinted that the boys “all had a chat” about that very possibility.
“We said it would be amazing. Not even just performing together, but can you imagine the craic? Nine of us Irish lads on a tour bus together, going round the world together,” he revealed.
“It would be absolute carnage.”
Boyzone featured Keith, 41, alongside his bandmates Ronan Keating, Shane Lynch, Stephen Gately and Michael Graham. The group were formed by Louis Walsh in 1993 and racked up a total of 21 singles in the UK top 40 charts.
Louis would later go on to manage Westlife, who were formed in 1998 and officially disbanded in June 2012. Westlife – which consisted of Brian, Shane Filan, Kian Egan, Mark Feehily and Nicky Byrne – sold over 50 million records around the world and released 14 number one singles in the UK.
