Beyonce has addressed the infamous incident between hubby Jay-Z and sister Solange in a new remix of her song ‘Flawless’.
Earlier this year, a leaked video revealed Solange, 28, lashing out at Jay, 44, in an elevator at a Met Gala after-party. The fight immediately sparked speculation that Solange was coming to her big sister’s defence amidst rumours of Jay cheating.
Beyonce and Solange are known to be very close.
Shortly after the fight, the trio released a joint statement saying they had “worked through it” as a family, without ever explaining the real reason behind the clash. Since then, Jay, Bey and Solange have kept firmly tight-lipped about the incident.
Now for the first time, Beyonce has publicly referenced the fight in the ‘Flawless’ remix. Nicki Minaj, who guests on the track, released the single as a surprise to fans over the weekend.
If you listen carefully, you can hear Bey singing “we escalate, up in this b**ch like elevators. Of course sometimes sh*t go down when it’s a billion dollars on the elevator”.
No word on whether Solange (a singer in her own right and the founder of Sony imprint label Saint Records) or Jay Z will be releasing their own tracks in response!
