Court documents show that Amber, 30, alleges Johnny “violently attacked” her on Saturday night in their apartment after the actor “began obsessing over something that wasn’t true” and grew “extremely angry”.

Amber claims Johnny eventually threw his iPhone at her, which struck her in the face, as well as breaking several objects in the apartment. The police were called and arrived at the residence, but the actress says Johnny had fled before they got there.

The star later appeared in court with what appeared to be a large bruise visible on her cheekbone, bringing with her photos of the alleged injury on her face as evidence. She claims Johnny offered her money to stay silent, but she instead made the decision to file for divorce two days later, on Monday. She also claims to have video of the incident.

A source tells People this attack was “not an isolated event”, while a separate statement from Amber’s friend Raquel Pennington, who came over to the apartment after Johnny began his alleged attack, is said to support Amber’s version of the incident.

Johnny’s lawyers filed an opposing document accusing Amber of attempting to “secure a premature financial resolution by alleging abuse”. Johnny was not in court at the time as he was in Portugal performing with his band at a music festival.

On Thursday, Johnny released a statement about his split from Amber.

“Given the brevity of this marriage and the most recent and tragic loss of his mother, Johnny will not respond to any of the salacious false stories, gossip, misinformation and lies about his personal life.

“Hopefully the dissolution of his short marriage will be resolved quickly,” a rep for the actor said in the statement.

The former couple had been married for 15 months when Amber filed for divorce on Monday, citing irreconcilable differences as the cause. The news came just days after Johnny’s mother, Betty Sue Palmer, passed away.

Johnny was previously linked to French actress Vanessa Paradis, with whom he has two children, Lily-Rose and John Christopher.
