She recently called out New York City subway commuters for not giving up their seat when she was heavily pregnant with her second child, and now after welcoming the family’s new arrival, Hollywood’s favourite #NoFilter mum has done it again…
Last week, Olivia Wilde took to Instagram to point out what she deemed to be an advertising fail that she stumbled upon online.
“Real quick, just wanna take a break from online (lazy-person) Christmas shopping to call bulls*** on this ad for a breast-pump bra because this lady definitely did not recently birth a child who requires breastmilk to be pumped,” the 32-year-old wrote alongside a snap showing a slim woman with a taught torso wearing a “Hands Free Breastpump Bra”.
“Also, want to give a quick cyber-hug to this model, who had to pretend to have recently birthed a milk-fed baby-child when she clearly has spent the last year lifting tiny weights and meditating,” Olivia continued, adding: “PS. I own this bra and it’s awesome.”
Her candid post has since received 20,000 likes and more than 1,000 comments, many of which were left by new mums also dumbfounded by the company’s choice of model.
“Yesssss realness. Pumping right now with my belly bulging over my yoga pants,” wrote one fan, while another simply shared, “You are my hero.”
It’s not the first time the mother of son Otis, two, and newborn Josephine, two-months, has been honest about motherhood. Earlier this month, she shared a memory in which she had to get creative after running out of storage bags to pump her breast milk.
“Pumping milk into mason jars ✔️. Ran out of storage bags. Rookie move. Big thanks to the plant for really perking up for this photo. Also thanks to the Airbnb owner for the use of said mason jars. #pumped,” she shared.
Speaking to Shape about the way her body has changed since welcoming her second child with husband Jason Sudeikis, Olivia says, “I’m softer than I’ve ever been, including that unfortunate semester in high school when I simultaneously discovered Krispy Kreme and pot.”
Referring to her post-baby shoot photos for the glossy, the Tron actress continued,“The photos of me in this magazine have been generously constructed to show my best angles, and I assure you, good lighting has been warmly embraced. The truth is, I’m a mother, and I look like one.”
