50 Cent (Curtis Jackson) is most known for his rapping skills, but the New York native also founded G-Unit Records in 2003 and became an investor in Glaceau, the company behind Vitamin Water. In 2014, Forbes listed him as the fifth richest person in American hip-hop.

Jessica Simpson heads the Jessica Simpson Collection, a retail brand that sells everything from shoes to jewellery. The company has been growing strongly and reportedly takes in around $1 billion a year at retail, according to Forbes.

Nicole Richie shot to fame with bestie Paris Hilton as reality stars, but since her days on ‘The Simple Life’ she has branched out into jewellery and fashion with her brand House of Harlow 1960.

No Doubt frontwoman Gwen Stefani also runs a clothing line called L.A.M.B. that reportedly earns $90 million a year.

Since their early beginnings as child stars, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen have always had a flair for business. At 18 they headed their own entertainment company overseeing the diverse collection of merchandise and movies associated with their name.
