Brad Pitt is no longer sober. Seven years after the two-time Oscar winner quit drinking in the aftermath of his contentious split from Angelina Jolie, he is ready to redefine his relationship with alcohol.
“I got back off the wagon,” the 62-year-old explains.
“In a more restrained manner. I got overconfident a couple times, went, ‘Yep, nope, not good for me. Not in big quantities.’”
It has been a trying decade for Brad, who is still locked in a legal battle with Angelina, 51, over their Château Miraval winery, and is reportedly estranged from all six of their children. In recent years, Maddox, 24, Zahara, 21, Shiloh, 20, and Vivienne, 18, have even petitioned to drop his surname legally.

When Brad’s optimisim ran out
Speaking about the toll that “family stuff” has taken, Brad admits that after being a “congenital optimist” for most of his life, it is the first time he ever felt suicidal.
“In that one little period, I just thought – I just couldn’t – just didn’t see a way out,” he says.
“The pain was so oppressive. And I thought, Oh, okay, now I understand – I understand suicide, in the sense that it’s just relief. It’s just looking for relief from the pain.”
Happily, he says, he knew he wouldn’t act on the instinct, but acknowledges, “This sh*t ain’t easy. And you’re talking to a guy who won the lottery.”
