The rumours of the rift between Duchess Catherine and Duchess Meghan have finally begun to dissipate and adding to the proof that the sisters-in-law get on perfectly fine is a new revelation by royal write Carolyn Durand, who says the two “enjoy spending time together.”
Speaking to Hello!, the royal writer explains that the shared experience of motherhood has definitely helped to bring the two together, reports The Sun.
“Kate was a great source of support to Meghan in the days leading up to Archie’s birth and, despite reports of a rift, they are family and have a really lovely friendship,” Carolyn reveals to the publication.
“Their relationship has constantly evolved over time and they have become closer since Meghan’s wedding.
“They talk and text regularly, they have more in common and Kate has wanted to make sure Meghan has felt welcomed to the family.”

Carolyn is not the first to quash the speculation that not all is well between the Duchesses.
Following Meghan and Kate’s recent joint appearance at the Wimbledon championships earlier this month an eyewitness told People that following Serena Williams’ lose in the finals (Serena is a close friend of Meghan’s), Kate “put her hand out and rubbed Meghan’s back to console her.”
Speaking of the moment royal commentator Victoria Arbiter, whose father Dickie Arbiter was a press spokesman for the Queen said: “It illustrated a warm relationship between these women who have young babies and are in similar situations in their lives.”
Following their appearance at Wimbledon the two royals also brought their families to the royal charity polo match, which marked the first time two-month-old Archie was spotted with his cousins Prince George, 6, Princess Charlotte, 4, and Prince Louis, 1.

Speculation that there was tension between the Duchesses began when it was reported that Meghan made Kate cry during a dress fitting for Prince Charlotte, who was a flower girl for Harry and Meghan’s wedding.
They were stoked even further when it was announced the Sussexes would be splitting from the Kensington Palace household and then again with the shock announcement that Harry and Meghan would be splitting from the joint charity they ran with Prince William and Kate.
However royal insiders say if anything, the separations have helped the sisters-in-law relationship by putting a little distance between them – allowing them to be less like “colleagues” and more able to enjoy each other’s company as family.
Over the coming years, now with the addition of Archie, there’s no doubt we’re likely to see the two families become even closer than ever, particularly with Prince Louis and Archie so close in age.
In fact, it was revealed earlier this week that the two eldest Cambridge children already “dote” on their newborn cousin, with a royal insider telling Us Weekly: “Charlotte treats Meghan and Harry’s son like a little doll and is always asking after him.”

Earlier this week Prince George celebrated his sixth birthday and to mark the occasion Kensington Palace released three gorgeous portraits of the future King, taken by Kate.
The Cambridges are reportedly holidaying on the Caribbean island of Mustique and on their return to London will be hosting a magic-themed birthday party for the young prince, complete with a royal bouncy castle in the grounds of Kensington Palace.
While the date has not yet been confirmed for the royal party, lucky guests likely to be on the invite list include George’s cousin Mia Tindall, the eldest daughter of Zara and Mike Tindall, and another royal relative Maud Windsor, the daughter of Lord Frederick Windsor, who also happens to be his fellow classmate at Thomas’s in Battersea.
