We have been waiting for this moment from the moment Prince Harry professed to the world that he was dating Meghan Markle.
And now it’s here… Prince Harry is engaged to Meghan Markle.
From the moment Kensington Palace announced the news on Twitter, all royal watchers wanted was visuals of the pair ahead of their engagement photo call.
The wait is over, Prince Harry and his future wife, Meghan Markle, arrived in Princess Diana’s Sunken White Garden – and the only thing that shined brighter than their smiles, was the Suits star’s engagement ring.
“‘I knew she was the one from the very first day.”
Her diamond ring is set on a gold band, and features a diamond from Botswana — a place close to each of their hearts following several trips there as a couple — and two side stones which were taken from Harry’s mother, Diana’s, personal collection.
Harry assures us the proposal was very romantic!
The dashing royal designed the ring which is believed to be made from gems from a brooch that belonged to his late mother.
The sparkler features three diamonds – one from Botswana and two from Princess Diana’s collection – on a gold band.
Harry enlisted the help of Cleave and Company.
The star diamond, sitting in the middle of the ring, is from Botswana.
The African nation is especially dear to Prince Harry who has visited since he was a child.
Meghan and Harry also spent time in Botswana together over the last 18 months.
Harry designed the ring with Cleave and Company.
They’ve been together for 16 months.
Harry, 33, and Meghan’s engagement was announced on the morning of Monday 27 November.
Kensington Palace shared the following statement:
“His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales is delighted to announce the engagement of Prince Harry to Ms. Meghan Markle.
The wedding will take place in Spring 2018. Further details about the wedding day will be announced in due course.
His Royal Highness and Ms. Markle became engaged in London earlier this month.
Prince Harry has informed Her Majesty the Queen and other close members of his family. Prince Harry has also sought and received the blessing of Ms. Markle’s parents. The couple will live in Nottingham Cottage at Kensington Palace.”
Harry said he was “thrilled!”
Just hours after sharing his happy news, the press asked Harry how he felt.
Addressing the world, he gushed, “Thrilled.” Very glad it’s not raining!”
Meghan quickly added, “So happy!”
Proving to be the ultimate future hubby, Harry revealed he knew she was the one, “The very first time we met.”
Meghan was princess perfection, donning a stunning white coat by Line the Label.
While Harry admitted details of the proposal “will come later,” he and Meghan both assured us that it was romantic!
