The Ryman Healthcare season of Hansel & Gretel harks back to the 1920s – think vaudeville, steampunk, flickering silent film, flapper fairies in a moonlit forest. Follow lurking shadows to the Witch’s cottage – a carnival of the grotesque – excessive, playful, oozing and bursting at its gingerbread seams.
For Christmas 2019, the Royal New Zealand Ballet is proud to present a new two-act ballet of Hansel & Gretel, with choreography by Loughlan Prior and a specially commissioned score by Claire Cowan – and we want you to be there!
