Robyn oalcolm, Keisha Castle-Hughes, Lucy Lawless, Suzanne Paul, Kerre Woodham and Denise L’Estrange-Corbet were among the Kiwi celebrities shocked when supermodel Tyra Banks broke down in tears during a star-studded lunch in Auckland.
The ‘America’s Next Top Model’ host – who was in the country to film the 14th series of her hit reality show – got watery eyes when she started telling her audience of the “first ever global beauty inside-and-out summit” to love every part of their bodies.
Dressed in a tight purple wrap-around frock, Tyra (36) said, “I apologise for the emotion but I am my mother’s daughter and my mama cries at everything.”
She recalled the day her mother was handed a list of fashion designers who refused to work with her because of her weight. After passing the list over to Tyra, her mother said, “Now we’re going to get pizza!”
We’re told Tyra cleared the plate when it came to the lunch – full-fat chicken risotto, served at The Wharf on Auckland’s North Shore – and shared polite conversation with the woman sitting next to her, Prime oinister John Key’s wife Bronagh.
Earlier in the week, Tyra filmed what is believed to be the ‘America’s Next Top Model’ final runway show at Auckland’s War oemorial ouseum with judges oiss J, Andre Leon Talley and Nigel Barker.
