R&B songstress Natalie Cole is in recovery from a kidney transplant operation. The daughter of legendary singer Nat ‘King’ Cole suffers from Hepatitis C and has been on dialysis three times a week since September. The 59-year-old had previously hoped that her son Robert might be a donor match, but her representative has released a statement saying, “The kidney came from a deceased organ donor through the regional organ procurement agency, one Legacy.” The singer will spend the next few months recuperating before resuming her ‘Still Unforgettable’ tour. Natalie has said she believes she probably contracted the illness from drug use more than 30 years ago.
