Mariah Carey is apparently seeing green since Grammy Award producers chose Madonna to open the ceremony instead of her. The pop star “really wanted to open the show with her choir-backed rendition of ‘We Belong Together’,” says a source. Madonna reportedly threatened to boycott the show unless she was given the prime opening spot – despite her new album `Confessions on A Dance Floor’ not even being nominated for an award. Neither star will appear on the red carpet at today’s event, which has fuelled speculation about the spat. [9 February 2006]
