Kim Kardashian slammed for dressing her daughter North in corset-inspired outfit

The reality star has clapped back at critics saying the corset is just a detail.
Kim Kardashian faces backlash over North West corset dress

In a move that could be seen as taking mini-me dressing a step too far, Kim Kardashian has come under fire from fans for dressing her daughter in what appears to be a corset.

Four-year-old North West was snapped with Kardashian on the streets of New York wearing an apricot-coloured slip dress with a purple floral-embroidered corset, worn as an accessory.

The corset wraps loosely around the dress and laces crisscrossing up the front.

Fans who saw the paparazzi shots took to social media in their droves to call out the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star for dressing the young girl in an item that is normally associated with shapewear.

Although Kardashian is a fan of corsetry as outerwear – the trend is big right now – she’s also previously admitted to using waist-trainers as a way to cinch her hourglass figure.

Speaking out against those who slammed her over her daughter’s dress, the star took to Twitter on Wednesday to insist the corset wasn’t anything more than a sartorial detail

The reality star posted a clip captioned: “I would never put my daughter in a corset! It’s a dress I bought that is a cotton fabric that laces up & looks like a corset! Just decoration.”

In the video, she explains: “This dress that I did not design, I actually bought, is not a corset it’s just fabric on the front.

Kardashian and her husband, rapper and Yeezy fashion designer, Kanye West recently collaborated on a collection of children’s wear – The Kids Supply – which they launched in May.

The range, which hasn’t been without a level of controversy, includes a leopard print slip dress, chokers, hats and silk bombers.
